I don’t know if this was shot on a DSLR or not. And I don’t care.
It’s such an interesting example of how people are using these tools to create films and present their perspectives. And, in this case, document a remarkable time in their lives.
The Longest Way 1.0 – one year walk/beard grow time lapse from Christoph Rehage on Vimeo.
It kind of falls into the time-lapse category as it covers a year in his life. But it include video footage mixed in with still shots, using the pacing of both the events on screen and the music to drive the edit.
Mostly it’s inspiration to take the events in your life and make something special from them. You may not be walking across China but you likely are doing something special. Or likely you at least know someone who’s doing something special.
For instance, one of my friends has a terminal disease that affects young women. She recently had a double lung transplant and it seems to be saving her life. I’d love to tell her story. It’s amazing and uplifting. And it could bring hope and understanding to others. It’s on my list…
What’s going on in your life that is worth creating a film about?
